Let’s Talk, Woman to Woman.
Yes, it is good to be a good girl.
It is good to have values.
It is good to be:
Respectful
Reserved
Loyal
Prayerful
Soft but strong
Diligent and full of love
Someone who walks in integrity
But let this message be your gentle reminder:
Being a “good girl” is not a magical key that unlocks the heart of a good man, lands you your dream job, or guarantees a happily ever after.
The Myth We Were Taught
Many of us were raised to believe:
"If I just behave well and do everything right, everything good will come to me — a good man, a good job, and a good life."
We were told that goodness will be rewarded — not just by God, but by life itself. But real life doesn’t always follow this script.
The truth?
You can be a good girl and still get lied to.
You can be loyal and still be betrayed.
You can be soft and still be mishandled.
You can be prayerful and still attract heartbreakers.
So when you find yourself asking:
What did I do wrong?
Why was I overlooked?
Why did he choose her over me?
Why didn’t I get the job when I’ve done everything right?
The answer is not always about what you lack — but rather what you may have over-relied on.
Being Good is Beautiful — But It’s Not Enough
This is not to discourage goodness — no.
But you need more than “good girl energy” to succeed and be fulfilled. You need:
💡 Wisdom – To discern who is truly for you, and who’s wasting your time.
💪 Self-Worth – To walk away from situations beneath your value.
🛡️ Boundaries – To guard your peace and emotional space.
🎯 Standards – To tell the difference between attention and true intention.
🧠 Courage – To not settle because you’re tired of waiting.
Being good should be for you. For your relationship with God. For your peace. For your future self. Not because you expect to be paid back with a man, a ring, or a position.
My Story: When “Good Girl” Wasn’t Enough
Back in the day, I was the definition of a good girl.
People looked at me and said, “That’s a well-raised woman.”
I didn’t party.
I didn’t cheat.
I didn’t date carelessly.
I obeyed every moral and spiritual code.
I thought by 25, I would be married to a man who loved me, living my dream life, and working in my dream job. I did everything right... yet life didn’t go the way I expected.
The man I loved left me for someone who didn’t match my values.
I lost the job opportunities I prayed for.
Friends who didn’t seem as “disciplined” got ahead.
I was crushed. I asked God, “Why?”
Until one day at a church program, a message hit me:
I had character, but not value.
I had discipline, but not depth.
That day, I made a decision. I would invest in myself — mentally, professionally, emotionally. And everything started to change.
Dear Sister, Let Me Tell You This…
Being a good girl is not a transaction.
You are not earning a reward, you are living out your essence.
A good man will not just come because you dress modestly or pray daily.
He will come because he sees your purpose, your light, your clarity, and your vision.
So keep your goodness. But don’t carry it like a begging bowl.
Carry it like a crown — with wisdom, value, strength, and awareness.
In Summary:
✅ Be good — but also be wise.
✅ Be soft — but also strong.
✅ Be loyal — but also discerning.
✅ Be patient — but also intentional.
A good man isn’t a reward. He is a partner.
A job isn’t a prize. It is a place of purpose.
Let your goodness be rooted in God, not in desperation.
Let your love story be led by purpose, not pressure.
And when the time is right — God will make it happen.
Not because you were good, but because you were whole.
With all my love and truth,
I’m rooting for you.
