A scientist sought to understand the power of the human mind's influence on life and death. He found a man sentenced to die and offered him a “scientific experiment.”
He explained that a small cut would allow his blood to drain slowly.
“It will be painless,” he said. “You may not survive, but you will not suffer.”
The prisoner, prepared for death, accepted. A small cut was made, with a container hidden to simulate blood loss while a saline solution created the sound of drops.
The prisoner heard every drop —
